Unfortunately, with death comes a lot of admin at a time when this can feel overwhelming. But there is support available.

One of the first steps is to report the member’s death to us so that we can arrange for the relevant benefits to be paid to their loved ones as quickly as possible.

If the member was not a Barclays employee, get in touch with the at Willis Towers Watson. If the member was still a Barclays employee, it’s best to contact Barclays directly.

Tips for tackling the admin

  1. Use a checklist. The MoneyHelper website outlines what to do following a death. GOV.UK and Which? also provide similar support.
  2. Tell the government. A government service ‘Tell us once’ allows you to report the death to all the relevant government bodies in one go.
Tip: The Death Notification Service can notify certain banks and building societies in one go too.

New online reporting service

We want to make reporting a death as simple as it can be. We also recognise that not everyone will want to get in touch in the same way.

That’s why we’ve provided this online form so you can now start the process electronically, if that’s what you’d prefer to do.
