We want every member to feel represented. That’s why we’re looking for a fresh voice to join the Trustee Board of the Barclays Bank UK Retirement Fund (the UKRF). Like us, you’ll be committed to acting in the best interests of all our members – including yourself.
In 2026, we’ll be appointing a new Member Nominated Director (MND). It could be you. We’re looking for someone who can bring a real member perspective to our discussions and help us see our work through a new lens.
Being an MND with the UKRF is an important and busy role with a very significant time commitment. It’s also rewarding, interesting and a great opportunity to play a part in the running of one of the UK’s largest pension funds.
You don’t need to be a pensions expert. We’ll give you the training and support you need. What matters most is your interest in pensions and your willingness to play an active role on the UKRF Trustee Board.
To succeed, you’ll need to show key skills such as stakeholder management, leadership, teamwork, decision-making and problem-solving.
The Trustee Board is made up of six Trustee Directors selected by Barclays (including three independent Trustee Directors) and three Trustee Directors chosen from the membership.
The role is open to most members. You’re not eligible to apply if you currently receive a spouse’s or dependant’s pension and are not entitled to UKRF benefits in your own right.
Becoming an MND is a powerful way to represent your fellow UKRF members, contribute to the Trustee Board’s decisions, connect with new colleagues and advisers, and share fresh ideas about how the UKRF supports its members.
Closing date for receipt of application forms is 13 April 2026.
