Trustee Board update
The Trustee Board recently reappointed Maxine Morris to serve a second term as a member nominated director (MND) and welcomed Ian Pittaway as a new independent director in place of Douglas Ferrans.
The UKRF is run by a Trustee company, Barclays Pension Funds Trustees Limited. There are nine Directors on the Trustee Board. A third of these are MNDs.
MNDs are appointed for a term of four and a half years, and are eligible for re-selection for a second term. The selection is carried out by a panel which includes Trustee Directors and UKRF members. When Maxine came to the end of her first term as an MND, the selection panel considered her alongside the candidates who had been put into the pool of potential Trustee Director candidates following the 2024 MND selection exercise. The Trustee Board accepted the selection panel’s recommendation that Maxine should be offered a second term as an MND.
In addition to Maxine’s reappointment, Ian Pittaway has replaced Douglas Ferrans as an independent director. Douglas has stepped down from the Trustee Board after eight years as a Trustee Director of the UKRF. Ian was a qualified solicitor and was Senior Partner at a specialist pension law firm for 16 years. He is now a professional trustee and is chair of trustees for several large pension funds.
