The Fund has appointed two new Trustee Directors
We’re pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Rainbird and Matt Waymark to the Fund’s Trustee Board.
They joined the Trustee Board in early July and will be working with the other Trustee Directors to ensure that the Fund continues to be run well and managed to a high standard.
Meet the new Trustee Directors
Caroline Rainbird, Member Nominated
Caroline brings a wealth of global professional experience from a career spanning over 35 years within the financial services sector, including senior regulatory, strategic, commercial, operational and investment banking.
Important roles she’s held
In 2019, Caroline was appointed CEO of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, a role she held for over four years.
Caroline has previously worked for the NatWest Group for over 25 years holding senior positions at RBS Plc and ABN AMRO, where she took on several leadership and transactional roles within Group Shared Services, Finance, Change Management and Structured Finance.
Caroline is delighted to be appointed as a Trustee of the Fund and is looking forward to using her financial services expertise to help enhance the way the Fund is run and managed.
Outside of work she enjoys
Travelling with her two boys and husband. For their last holiday, Caroline and her family chose to explore the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, where they enjoyed playing tennis and diving in the Red Sea.
When she’s not spending time ferrying her boys to their sports lessons and matches, Caroline likes to take some time out for herself and go for a run around the block or play netball.
While Caroline also enjoys going to the Theatre (Hamilton being one of her favourites), she has recently discovered the ‘Swiftie’ in her! Caroline attended Taylor Swift’s the Eras Tour in Anfield and loved every second of it.
Matt Waymark, Bank Nominated
With a career spanning over 20 years at the Bank, Matt was a Senior Finance Executive at the NatWest Group, a role he held for over 7 years. He was also the Finance Director of the Commercial & Institutional Executive Committee of the Group, which he joined in 2022.
Important roles he’s held
Matt has also served as a Non-Executive Director at Coutts & Company. He is also a seasoned and respected strategic partner to Executive and Board level committees with a track record of delivery of step changes in capability across the finance function.
In his role as the Fund’s new Trustee Director, Matt hopes to use the opportunity to give back to the people he has worked at the Bank for over two decades and use his expertise to help make a positive difference to their futures.
Outside of work he enjoys
Travelling with his wife, son and daughter. For their last holiday, Matt and his family chose to explore the world down under. They went travelling around Australia for three weeks, touring from Melbourne up to Sydney, and then driving to New South Wales all the way to Brisbane. They ended the trip in Port Douglas, where they enjoyed snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef!
A proud Welshman, Matt loves watching loads of sports and taking his 10-year-old son to play football for the local club (Currie Star). In his free time, Matt also enjoys playing golf. The competition of the game helps him to refocus and clear his head.
